Parent Support Group

Supporting each other; supporting our children.

Parent Support Group

Our parent support group started in May 2016 at a public forum meeting. Parents at that meeting felt that they could be of help to each other and work together to provide support for their children.

The group decided to meet the fourth Monday of every other month. Meetings take place at the ACRES house at 2400 Bernel Road and are led by Darlene Maple, a parent of an adult daughter with autism. The agenda for each meeting is set by parents to provide the information that they feel is necessary. In the future, a mentor program will be designed for parents of adults with autism to mentor parents of newly diagnosed children.

The next Parent Support Group meeting is TBA.
